We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Island of Ingenuity website and governs data collection and usage at all other Island of Ingenuity sites and services; it does not apply to other online or offline sites, products or services.

Island of Ingenuity is a general audience web site, intended for users of all ages. This website is owned by the Sri Lankan Export Development Board and operated by it and its partners and agents. Information of all users is collected, used and disclosed as described in this Statement of Privacy. SLEDB will be governed by the provisions of the Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016 of Sri Lanka.

Collection of your Personal Information
As an e-commerce web site, Island of Ingenuity collects personal information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. Information collected by Island of Ingenuity will primarily be used for marketing and communication. Island of Ingenuity does not collect any information about your computer hardware and software.

Island of Ingenuity encourages you to review the privacy statements of web sites you choose to link to from Island of Ingenuity so that you can understand how those web sites collect, use and share your information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Web sites outside of the Island of Ingenuity Web site.

Use of your Personal Information
Island of Ingenuity and its operational service partners collect and use your personal information to deliver personalized experiences, and for communications and marketing. It is possible that Island of Ingenuity may also use personal information to inform you of other products or services available from the Island of Ingenuity and its affiliates. Island of Ingenuity may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of information, current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

Island of Ingenuity may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. Island of Ingenuity does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.

Island of Ingenuity may access and/or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Island of Ingenuity or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Island of Ingenuity, including its Web site; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Island of Ingenuity or the public.

Personal information collected on this site may be stored and processed in Sri Lanka or any other country in which Island of Ingenuity or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.

Control your Personal Information
Island of Ingenuity offers its customers choices for the collection, use and sharing of personal information. You may notify us of your preferences by emailing [email protected]. Please be sure to provide complete account information so we can identify you in our records.

You may also stop the delivery of future e-mail from Island of Ingenuity by responding directly to any email you receive with a request to remove you from the mailing list. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, No. 42, Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 02, Sri Lanka.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

How we use cookies
